Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve volumetric efficiency and a cycle characteristic of a battery without increasing internal pressure of the battery. SOLUTION: In this cylindrical storage battery, an electrode group 13 composed by stacking a negative electrode plate with a negative electrode mix layer formed on both surfaces of a core body on a positive electrode plate 35 by interlaying a separator 37, and by spirally rolling them is housed in an armoring can. In the storage battery, the negative electrode plate is composed of a plurality of plates, and the thickness of the negative electrode plate 11 positioned on the outermost circumference out of the plurality of plates is smaller than those of the other negative electrode plates 12.
